[Anorectal leiomyoma: a case report and literature review].

eiomyoma is a tumor strain that derives from the smooth uscle fibers and develops in the regions where these fibers re present. In the digestive tract, the anorectal location is ncommon and is usually diagnosed late due to intralumial growth in over 50% of the cases. Given the exceptional ocation, we present the case of a 49-year-old woman who ought medical attention for a tumor of 7-month progresion in the perineal region that had progressively increased n size. She was asymptomatic during this period and did not resent with tenesmus, rectorrhagia, or proctalgia. Physial examination revealed a right perianal tumor of 3 cm in iameter that was mobile and had an elastic consistency o the touch (fig. 1). Nuclear magnetic resonance imagng showed a well-defined, nodular, oval-shaped lesion that easured about 5 cm in diameter, with heterogeneous conrast medium uptake.
